Operation Indy Animals Receives $50,000 Grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust to Support Spay and Neuter Efforts in Indianapolis
Indianapolis, IN — [June 30, 2025] — Operation Indy Animals (OIA) is proud to announce the initiative has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. This generous funding will expand access to vital spay and neuter services for pet owners in underserved communities across Indianapolis.
The grant will support OIA’s mission to reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare through low- or no-cost sterilization services. The funding will enable OIA to spay/neuter, vaccinate, and microchip an additional one hundred and forty-four dogs and sixty-seven cats over the coming year, helping to prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of animals entering shelters. These surgeries will be scheduled through FIDO Indy and Indy Neighborhood Cats at IndyHumane Downtown Clinic, FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic, and West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic.
“We are deeply grateful to the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust for their commitment to animal welfare and for recognizing the critical need for accessible spay and neuter services in Indianapolis,” said Darcie Kurtz, Co-Chair of Operation Indy Animals. “This funding allows us to reach more families and make a lasting impact on the lives of animals and the people who love them.”
The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust has a long-standing history of supporting organizations that promote animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and compassionate communities. Through this grant, the Trust continues its legacy of making Indianapolis a safer, more humane place for pets and their families.
