IMPORTANT: Please do not report animal complaints or concerns via Social Media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.), email, or by calling the shelter directly. All complaints reported using the Mayor's Action Center or RequestIndy are automatically entered into IACS's system for Animal Care Officers (ACO) to investigate. Reporting a complaint in any other manner will result in a delayed response.

Reporting A Complaint
When reporting a complaint, please give an accurate address where the complaint is taking place. Give as much detail as possible about the animal you are concerned about. Also, make sure what you are reporting is a violation. (see complaint list above)
NOTE: You can stay anonymous when filing a complaint, however, in some investigations (i.e. dog bites, barking dogs) the actions an ACO can take will be limited if there is no contact information for the person filing the complaint.
Take pictures and videos when possible!
Report a complaint using Request Indy
This is the preferred method of reporting complaints. Both the app and the website are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Complaints entered by this method will immediately be sent to an on-duty ACO to investigate. ACOs work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
